titleOfInvention Process for the preparation of bis (4-hydroxyaryl) alkanes
abstract A process is disclosed for preparing bis-(4-hydroxyaryl)-alkanes by heterogeneous catalytic reaction of aromatic hydroxyl compounds with ketones in at least two reactors interconnected in series driven so that their temperature is raised as the reaction advances. The overall amount of ketone is distributed among the individual reactors so that the higher the temperature of a reactor, the lower its share of ketone. The load of the reactors is kept as high as possible and the temperatures and temperature gradients as low as possible.
