abstract The drive device includes a shaft pipe (7) leading from the crankshaft (5) of the engine (4) and an associated damping device. Each damping device (12) is mounted in the area leading away from the engine (4) of the crankshaft/shaft pipe unit (5,7). Each damping device has at least two elements (13,14) which can be moved circumferentially towards each other through action on a damper. The oppositely movable elements are connected in rotational locking engagement with areas of the shaft passage spaced from each other. The ends of the shaft pipe have associated flanges (8,9) which are each connected to a damping device element (13,14). At least one of these elements is connected to a flange by a hollow shaft assembly containing the shaft pipe.
