abstract |
The description relates to a process for the catalytic hydrogenation of terpenoids with water in the presence of a transition metal catalyst, in which the hydrogenation is performed in the homogenous phase in the presence of a catalyst consisting of a reaction product of transition metals of the eighth sub-group and polymer compounds selected from the group polyvinyl pyrrolidone (PVP), polyethylene imine (PEI) derivatives or starch derivatives. It is possible in this way pratically quantitatively to hydrogenate the terpenoids in a careful manner. |
