abstract A photoreactive and UV-light absorbing piperidine compounds having the formula (A), or a mixture of said piperidine compound with at least one selected UV-absorber, are used as light stabilisers for paints, preferably car paints. Also disclosed is a process for stabilising paints against the decomposition of the polymer material contained in the paint caused by exposure to atmospheric oxygen, heat and/or UV light, as well as the thus stabilised paints.
