titleOfInvention | Agents and methods for treating plants |
abstract | A method of regulating plant growth and increasing formation of fruits, stems and roots comprises applying to the area in which the plants are grown an alkanol (C1-C6), especially ethanol. The alkanol is mixed with water and the soil or the plants themselves are placed in the solution for 1 hr., optionally with aeration, and then removed. Best results are obtained with poor soils, low in humus content. Treatment of soil may be done 1-4 weeks before planting 1-4 weeks after plants have emerged from the soil. |
