titleOfInvention | New aluminum-diene polymers |
abstract | Aluminium-diene polymers, for preparation of catalysts for (co)polymerisation Compds. have the formula: where R1 is a 1 - 20C aliph. group, which is not branched on the alpha- or Beta-carbon atoms related to the Al, and R2 is a divalent group derived by removal of double bonds from a diene of formula CH2= - =CH2, or a dimer of this, in which R3 and R4 are H, alkyl, esp. CH3, an alkylene group with internal double bond or phenyl, x = 1 - 10, esp. 1 - 3, and Y1 and Y2 are H, an alkyl group branched in the beta-position to the Al, esp. an isobutyl group, or are groups derived from the diene or dimer; the terminal groups Y1R1Al and Y2 may be missing, when the remaining group is closed to a heterocyclic ring. The polymers have a uniform molecular structure and a low viscosity. They can be used as intermediates for organometallic synthesis. They can also be reacted with (oxy)halides, ester-halides or esters of elements of the sub-groups IV-VIII, including Th and U, to prepare catalysts for the (co)polymerisation of mono- and di-alkenes. |
