abstract Disclosed is an improved method of boosting surface consolidation of soil threatened by erosion by application of water-based and adhesion-promoting impregnation materials based on esters of polyvinyl alcohol with C1-5 monocarboxylic acids and their mixtures with higher monocarboxylic acids (binders), with simultaneous use of surface-active and biologically tolerable wetting agents. The method is characterised in that the soil impregnation is done in a number of stages and, at least in the first impregnation stage, an aqueous preparation containing the wetting agents is used. In this preliminary impregnation stage, binders are used preferably in relatively small quantities.
