abstract |
New plasmid (A) is obtd. by ligating 5 fragments: (i) the lux genes CDABE from Photobacterium leiognathi, with A and B encoding the alpha and beta subunits of luciferase and CDE providing proteins involved in synthesis of the aldehyde substrate for the luminescent reaction, (ii) the BamHI-EcoRI fragment of pBR322, (iii) the EcoRI-SmaI fragment of pUC18, (iv) the SmaI fragment of ColD-CA23 to provide the SOS promoter and (v) the SmaI-SphI fragment of pUC18 to close the plasmid to (i). Also new are microorganisms contg. (A). |
