abstract |
Glucoquats obtd. by reacting trialkanolamines with a mixt. of sugar acids and fatty acids with opt. alkoxylation of the resulting ester and subsequent conventional quaternisation are new. Pref. the mol. ratio sugar acids to fatty acids used is 1:10 to 10:1 and the ester prod. is prepd. by reacting the trialkanolamine with the acid mixt. in a mol. ratio of 1:1.3 to 1:2.4, esp. where the esterification is carried out in the presence of hypophosphorous acid or an alkali salt of this. Pref. a partial esterification of the trialkanolamine with the sugar acid is carried out before adding the fatty acid. |
