titleOfInvention Non-explosive preparations of 1-hydroxy-benzotriazole
abstract Described are preparations consisting of 5 to 90 %, relative to the total weight of the preparation, of a substantially neutralized 1-hydroxybenzotriazole of the formula (I) in which R<1> and R<2>, independently of each other, are hydrogen or methyl and M<+> is one equivalent of an alkali-metal or alkaline-earth cation or H<+>, 85-100 equiva. % of M<+> being in the form of the alkali-metal or alkaline-earth cartion and 15-0 equiv. % being in the form of H<+>, made up to 100 % with water, the preparations having a pH of 3-11. Such preparations are not explosive and can be handled without danger. The preparations are prepared by neutralizing unsubstituted 1-hydroxybenzotriazole with an aqueous solution or suspensions of the hydroxide, bicarbonate or carbonate of an alkali metal or alkaline earth. They can be in the form of solutions, suspensions or pastes.
