In the method proposed for the production of copolymers of tetrahydrofuran and 2-butine-1,4-diol by the catalytic polymerization of tetrahydrofuran, the polymerization is carried out over a heterogeneous acid catalyst having acid centres with a pKa-value of < +2, the concentration of the catalyst being at least 0.005 mmol/g, in the presence of 2-butine-1,4-diol. In particular, to produce polyoxytetramethylene glycol, the copolymers are reacted in the presence of hydrogen over a hydrogenation catalyst. |
