Oligo- or polygalacturonate mixed complexes of formula (I) are new: Me = alkaline earth and/or transition metal; Ps<-> = galacturonation; X = organic or inorganic acid anion with charge n; M = alkali metal; Ps = carboxyl free neutral saccharide unit; z = average bond number in the Me contg. complex (2-3); q is related to the stoichiometric factors a,b,c and m by the expression (A) and has a value 0.0001-(z-1); term (B) is the sum of the bonds of the complex contg. X; a-c = \-0 so that the largest value of a+b+2c is z-1.000; n = 1-10; m = 0.0001-2; x = 0-56; y = 0-35; and N' = an average polymerisation (N) factor (2-300). Also claimed are compsns. contg. (I). |
