Complexes of diethylenetriamine pentaacetic acid (DTPA) monoamides of formula (I) with metals of atomic number 20-29 or 57-83 are new. R', R" = opt. unsatd. 1-50C alkyl, (all or part of which may form a 5-8C monocyclic or 10-14C bicyclic unit), (contg. 0-10 O, 0-2 S, 0-3 CO, 0-1 CS, 0-2 NH, 0-2 phenylene, 0-1 3-indole, 0-1 methyl-imidazol-4-yl and/or 0-3 NR3, and substd. by 0-2 phenyl, 0-2 pyridyl, 0-5 OR2, 0-1 SH, 0-4 COOR2, 0-4 ACOOR2 and/or 0-1 NHR2) (where aromatic gps. are substd. by 0-5 of F, Cl, Br, I, COOR2, ACOOR2, 1-4C alkylamino, CONHR2, NHCOR2, NO2, OR2 and R2; or NR'R" = 5- to 8-membered ring opt. contg. 1-2 other N, O, S and/or CO; A = 1-4C alkenylene; R2 = H or 1-4C alkyl; R3 = H or opt. unsatd. 1-30C alkyl; any OH, NH2, SH and/or COOH gps. in R' and R" are opt. protected; any COOH gps. not involved in complexing are opt. in salt, ester or amide form. |
