titleOfInvention Production of polyurethane elastomers from polycaprolactones started with hydrazine or methylhydrazine
abstract Polyurethane elastomers are prepd. from organic polyisocyanates with chain extenders of law mol. wt. donating at least 2 active H atoms and polyesters of m.wt. 1000-5000 which donate at lest 2 OH grps are prepd. by polymerising lactones of formula (where R1 and R2 are 1-4C alkyl, 6-12C cycloalkyl, 1-4C alkoxy, or 6-12C aryl opt. substd. R3 is H or 1-4C alkyl; n is 4,5 or 6) in presence of a hydrazine of formula R4-HN-NH-R5 (where R4 and R5 are H, 1-4C alkyl, 1-4C hydroxyalkyl, allyl, cyanoethyl, 6-12C aryl opt. substd. or heterocyclics) as initiators. Used as bandages etc.
