titleOfInvention Process for the production of condensation products with a tanning effect
abstract Condensates are prepd. by reaction of sulphonated or sulphomethylated phenols with formaldehyde and acid amides or derivatives of acid amides, with subsequent post-treatment of these condensates/with phenols and formaldehydes or the reaction products of phenols and formaldehyde. The condensate obtained in the first operational step are post-treated with (a) aromatic hydroxymethyl compounds and (b) urea. Post-treatment is effected at 30-80 degrees C. The products are suitable for use as tanning agents.
