titleOfInvention | Process for the preparation of acylation products of amines and their use as additives in lubricants and in fuels |
abstract | N-contg. acyl cpds. used as lubricant and fuel additives. Prepared by reacting an alkylene polyamine with an acylating aliphthalic dicarboxylic acid. The product is reacted with an epoxide and then with a mono- or polycarboxylic acylating agent of high molecular weight such that there is at least one equivalent of acylating agent per mole of alkylene polyamine used originally. The high molecular weight acylating agent is succinic acid or anhydride substituted by a polymerised 1-monoolefin or a chlorinated-1-monoolefin of at least 50 aliphatic carbon atoms (polyisobutylene). |
