22-Amino-23,24-dinorcholane derivs. with anti-microbial activity Derivs. RCH(CH3)CH2NR1R2, (where R denotes the rest of the cholane structure, with = O or OH at C3; R1 and R2 denote H, alkyl, aryl, aralkyl, or a heterocyclic ring, opt. substd. or R1 and R2 together represent a cyclic system), are prepd. by reducting of corresponding DELTA 17(20)-20-cyanosteroids with a complex hydride, pref. LiAlH4, in an inert solvent; the product may be alkylated, dialkylated or converted to salts. The new derivs. are active against bacteria, fungi and trichomonads, and are valuable for the treatment of skin complaints. |
