Fancy textile prints of batik-type patterns on cellulosic fibres (without register alignment) are produced by first printing with one or more colours which each contains a reactive dyestuff, a vat dyestuff and an oxidising agent, and overprinting with a paste containing alkali and a reducing agent. Alternatively, by first printing with one or more colours which each contains a reactive dyestuff, a vat dyestuff, thiourea dioxide and a relatively insol. resist material which combines with alkali, and overprinting with a paste containing alkali. In each case the goods, with or without intermediate drying, are steamed to develop and fix the dyes in the usual way. |
