titleOfInvention Process for the preparation of 2-aryl-4,6-dihydroxy-1,3,5-triazines
abstract A 2-aryl-4,6-diamino-1,3,5-triazine in conc. H2SO4 is treated with nitrosylsulphuric acid at 80-160 degrees C and the reaction mixture poured into water. In an example 2-phenyl-4,6-diamino-1,3,5-triazine in conc. H2SO4 was treated with nitrosylsulphuric acid in conc. H2SO4 at 140 degrees C, cooled to 70 degrees C and poured into ice-water to obtain an 88% yield of 2-phenyl-4,6-dihydroxy-1,3,5-triazine.
