abstract | N-oxido-triazolylcoumarins and their reduction to triazolycoumarins. Cpds. of formula (I):- (where R1 and R2 are each H or (substituted) alkyl or aryl gps. or together form 5-6C non-aromatic ring with the C atoms in the trizole ring; R3 is (alkyl or aryl subst) pyrazolyl-(1)-, imidazoyl-(1)- or 1,2,4-triazolyl-(1)- radical and the coumarin ring is opt. subst.) and their quaternary cpds., are obtained by dehydrogenation cyclisation of the corresp. alpha-oximinohydrazone coumarin or its quaternary cpd. and the N-oxide produced may be reduced to the corr. triazolylcoumarin, e.g. by Zn dust in acetic acid. The N-oxides are marking agents. |
