(where R1 and R2 are the same or diff. aliphatic, aromatic, alicyclic hydrocarbons, pref. di-n-butyl or di-n-octyl residues, SY1, SY2 residues of the same or diff. mercapto-cpds. contg. a H atom bound to S) are produced by converting 1 mole diorganotin carboxylate partly or entirely into organotin-mercapto-cpds., using 1-2 moles of mercapto-cpd. contg. the same or diff. sulph-hydryl hydrocarbons. The products, very stable on storage, are stabilisers for polymers (PVC, mixed polymers PVC-PVA). |
