Waterglass and 45-80% of a dry substance are placed in moulds at a temp. of approx. 480-500 degrees C, foaming being continued for 7-50 min., depending on the wall strength and the size of the mould. Moulded bodies are pref. made from water glass with a solid content is approx. 48.5%, concn. 48-50 degrees Be, sp. wt. 1.49-1.53 contng. approx. 13.5% Na2O, 35.0% SiO2, 51.5% H2O, and a wt. ratio Na2O:SiO2 is approx. 2.68; partic. suited to forming sandwich slabs with other insulating and non-insulating substances. |
