titleOfInvention Process for staining wood
abstract Wood staining procedure steeps deep enough to avoid subsequent dyeing of furniture parts when cut from stained billets etc. The wood is treated with soluble or difficulty soluble colouring agents in water-miscible solvents and the dye is then fixed in the wood to ensure continuity of tone and deep penetration. Copper phthalocyanines sol. in organic solvents are used or 1:1- or 1:2 metal complexes of azo or azomethine dyes with o,o -dihydroxy-, o-carboxy-o' -hydroxy-, or o-amino-o' -hydroxy groups. Dyes can be fixed in the wood by water.
