titleOfInvention | New penicillins and methods of making them |
abstract | Adhesive compositions containing (1) an organic solvent (aliphatic hydrocarbon), (2) 100 parts of rubber consisting of (a) 10-100% of a diene or polyisobutylene rubber having an average molecular wt. of at least 30,000 and containing 0.005-0. 12 COOH equivalent per 100 g. (a carboxylated butadiene/styrene copolymer), and (b) 0-90% of a rubbery addition polymer deroid of COOH groups, (3) 0.1-80% of a solvent-soluble, COOH-reactive, resin compound of a metal of Group IZ, IIA, IIB or IVA of Derring's Periodic Table (Zn rosinate), and (4) 50-450 parts of a solubilising resin (phenolic resin) soluble in the organic solvent and compatible with the rubber. The adhesive have good cohesive strength and heat-resistance, and are easily applied by trowelling. |
