abstract 5-Nitro-2-furfurylideneaminooxazolidinones R = H, an aliphatic- or cycloaliphatic hydrocarbon (C1-11) or alkoxyalkyl (C2-11) (I) have antimicrobial activity, esp. antibacterial-, anthelmintic-, coccidiostatic-, trypanocidal- and antimalarial activity and may be used in man and animals, e.g. in the treatment of intestinal-and urinary infections, infections of mouth and throat etc. as well as for the protection of high-molecular organic materials against microbes. (I) May also be used as growth-promoting additives in animal feedstuffs.
