abstract | Prodn. of synthetic rubbers by continuous polymerisation of butadiene in a material composed of butane, butene and a minor amount of butadiene obtained from the thermal cracking of naphtha or the dehydrogenation of butane and butene, in which the butadiene is first selectively hydrogenated to eliminate acetylenes, it is then mixed with a flux of butane and butene unreacted in a subsequent polymerisation phase, optionally mixing the butadiene with copolymerisable monomers and polymerising it in the presence of an Alfin catalyst and a molecular weight moderator at -25 deg. to +70 deg.C. |
