Electronic odor indicator |
abstract |
A feeler contains two layers of conjugated organic compounds such as fluorescin, indigo, phenazine, chloranil and their complexes which act as donors or acceptors. The layers are in contact and electrons can migrate through a rectifying interface which is exposed by holes and carries external electrodes. A measuring instrument indicates the changes of the electronic characteristic of the interface when odoriferous substances are absorbed in it. |
