abstract | Vulcanisation of diene rubber using S is carried out with accelerator combination of (a) benxothiazole sulphenamine (s) and (b) thiuram disulphide and/or Zn dithiocarbamate in 65:35 to 35:65 wt. ratio for a:b. It is possible to adjust scorch retardation and modulus of vulcanisate to values obtained with activated thiazole accelerator and produce higher vulcanisation rate. Much less accelerator is necessary, so that total costs can often be reduced, in spite of higher unit costs. |
