abstract One aspect of the present invention is a phosphor powder containing Eu-activated β-type sialon phosphor particles as a main component. (Conditions) A dispersion liquid in which 30 mg of the phosphor powder is uniformly dispersed in 100 ml of an aqueous sodium hexametaphosphate solution having a concentration of 0.2% is placed in a columnar container whose bottom surface has an inner diameter of 5.5 cm. Then, the dispersion liquid is irradiated with ultrasonic waves having a frequency of 19.5 kHz and a power of 150 W for 3 minutes in a state in which a cylindrical tip with an outer diameter of 20 mm of an ultrasonic homogenizer is equal to or more than 1.0 cm in the dispersion liquid is immersed.
