abstract A hermetically sealed container for one or more data storage devices may have a base with grooves and corresponding side walls disposed in each groove, wherein an adhesive is disposed in each groove and connects each side wall to the base and wherein gap spacing mechanisms in each groove between the corresponding ones Sidewall and the base are arranged, whereby a gap for a sufficient flow of the adhesive between each side wall and the base is ensured. The adhesive may be a liquid based epoxy adhesive, with the spacing mechanisms providing sufficient capillary action to wet all surfaces to form a solid hermetic bond or seal between the sidewalls and the base. The container can then be filled with a gas lighter than air such as helium.
