titleOfInvention | Seal holder for surface mount fluid component |
abstract | Seal holding device (100; 500; 600) for use in a fluid supply system, comprising: a base member formed from a substantially flat plate (10; 510; 610) made of a flexible metal; and one or more seal socket openings (50; 550, 554; 650, 654, 658) formed in the base member; wherein in a flat, unbent condition, the one or more seal socket openings (50; 550, 554; 650, 654, 658) each have an elliptical perimeter with a continuously changing curvature and no straight segments with a large diameter (60; 560, 564; 660, 664, 668) sufficiently large to allow passage of a circular element (90) therethrough and a small diameter (40; 540, 544; 640, 644, 648) that is sufficiently small is in order to be able to engage in a recess, a groove or a thread on the outer diameter of the circular element (90), the small diameter (40; 540, 544; 640, 644, 648) being smaller than the large diameter (60; 560 , 564; 660, 664, 668); wherein when viewed outwardly from an interior of each of the one or more seal socket openings (50; 550, 554; 650, 654, 658), the perimeter of each of the one or more seal socket openings (50; 550, 554; 650, 654, 658) does not protrude convex inwards along its entirety. |
