abstract |
A composition and a method for the production thereof are provided. The composition includes transition metal oxides attached to a surface of a ceria support and may additionally include alkali metal or alkaline earth metal promoters. The method involves wet-impregnating the carrier with metal salt in solution and may include impregnation with a metal chelator salt. The composition may be useful as a catalyst for reducing harmful gases in combustion exhaust streams. The composition may be of particular use as a component of an automotive catalyst for the specific catalytic reduction of nitrogen oxides to nitrogen gas. |
