titleOfInvention | Magnetic toner |
abstract | The purpose of the present invention is to provide a toner which can obtain a stable image density over a sustained period which is not susceptible to causing stencilling and which has excellent low-temperature fixability, and which is therefore suitable for increasing the speed and improving the lifetime. A magnetic toner not only has toner particles each containing both a binder resin and a magnetic body, but also includes inorganic nanoparticles (a) and organic-inorganic composite particles, wherein the inorganic nanoparticles (a) and the composite particles on the surface of the Toner particles are present, characterized in that (i) each organic-inorganic composite particle has a structure in which inorganic nanoparticles (b) are embedded in a resin particle, and (ii) the organic-inorganic composite particles in an amount of 0.5 mass % or more and 3.0 mass% or less relative to the mass of the toner, that the inorganic nanoparticles (a) contain at least inorganic oxide nanoparticles selected from the group consisting of silica nanoparticles, titanium oxide nanoparticles and alumina nanoparticles, and a number average particle diameter (D1) of 5 nm or more and 25 nm or less, wherein at least 85 mass% of the inorganic oxide nanoparticles are silica nanoparticles, and that when the surface coverage of the toner particles is abbreviated to the inorganic nanoparticles (a) as "Coverage (A) (%)" and the Surface coverage of the toner particles with the inorganic nanoparticles (a) fixed to the surface of the toner particles is abbreviated as "coverage (B) (%)", the coverage (A) is 45.0% or more and 70.0% or is less and the ratio of the coverage (B) to the coverage (A), the (B / A) ratio, 0.50 or more and 0.85 or less. |
