An interface assembly includes an interface, such as a mask, secured to a head by means of a headgear assembly. The headgear assembly may include at least one ring portion and a plurality of straps. The headgear assembly may include both a front ring portion and a rear ring portion. In other arrangements, the headgear and mask define an adjustable closed loop. In some arrangements, the headgear may include one or more rigid portions that contact the user's face to at least partially isolate a seal of the mask from sealing pull forces applied to the headgear. In some arrangements, the mask is a mouth-nose mask, and the headgear exerts a force on the mask having an upward force component. In some arrangements, the headgear can be contoured to the user's head. |
