A process is disclosed for removing impurities such as nitrogen and / or sulfur compounds from a hydrocarbon feed, wherein the feed is contacted with an adsorbent containing a nitrogen-containing organic heterocyclic salt which has been applied to a porous support, e.g. B. a supported ionic liquid. In addition, there is disclosed a process for hydrotreating a hydrocarbon feed which includes a hydroprocessing step wherein the feed is contacted with an adsorbent including a supported ionic liquid prior to hydroprocessing. In addition, there is disclosed a process for producing a lubricating oil including an isomerization dewaxing of a base oil fraction, wherein the base oil fraction is contacted with an adsorbent including a supported ionic liquid prior to the isomerization dewaxing step. In one embodiment, the adsorbent is regenerated to restore its treatment capacity. |
