abstract Disclosed is a control device of a motor driving apparatus capable of properly stopping a high field control in a configuration that performs the high field control and the square wave control based on a voltage index, for example, a modulation factor. A voltage waveform control unit performs PWM control when a voltage index M indicative of the magnitude of the voltage command values Vd and Vq with respect to a DC voltage Vdc is smaller than a predetermined square-wave threshold, and performs quadrature-wave control when the voltage index M becomes equal to or greater is a square threshold. A field setting unit 8 performs strong field control under the condition that the voltage index M is equal to or larger than a predetermined high field threshold smaller than the square threshold. A mode control unit 5 ends the high-field control performed by the field setting unit 8 under the condition that a rotational speed ω is smaller than a rotational speed threshold ωT determined based on a target torque TM and the DC voltage Vdc.
