abstract |
The present invention describes a method and apparatus (90) for detecting particles in a gas by saturating the gas with steam and causing it to flow through a chamber (410) having walls (440) that are at a temperature which is different than the temperature of the incoming gas, causing gas turbulence in the interior of the chamber which causes the gas to become supersaturated with vapor and the supersaturated vapor to condense on the particles and form droplets which are then separated by a gas optical, light scattering detector (600) are detected and counted. |
