titleOfInvention Error distribution for power saving in display image memories
abstract Methods and apparatus for error distribution for power saving in display image memories are described herein. According to an embodiment, pixels of a color plane of image data are stored in a normal power consumption state in a first segment and a second segment of an image memory. In a low power state, error distribution is performed on the pixels to reduce color depth of the pixels. Thereafter, in the low power state, at least a portion of the reduced color depth pixels are stored in the first segment of the image memory without accessing the second segment of the image memory. Other methods and devices are also described.
