titleOfInvention Degradation control of biodegradable implants by coating
abstract The invention relates to an at least largely biodegradable endovascular implant whose in vivo degradation is controllable. This includes the implant - A tubular body, open at its end faces of at least one biodegradable material, wherein the body has an in vivo location-dependent first degradation characteristic D 1 (x), and - A coating of the body completely or possibly only partially covering of at least one biodegradable material, wherein the coating has an in vivo location-dependent second degradation characteristic D 2 (x), and wherein a location-dependent cumulative degradation characteristic D (x) results from the sum of the degradation characteristics D 1 (x) and D 2 (x) existing at said location (x) and the location-dependent cumulative degradation characteristic D ( x) is predetermined by varying the second degradation characteristic D 2 (x) that the degradation takes place at said location (x) of the implant in a predeterminable time interval with a predeterminable degradation process.
