It is described an intermediate product consisting of a mixture of organic carbonates and carbamates, and a process for its preparation in which urea, a substituted urea, a salt or ester of carbamic acid or one of its N-substituted derivatives DOLLAR A È in a polyalkylene glycol , Polyester polyol or a polyether polyol of general formula I, DOLLAR F1 in which R is a straight-chain or branched alkylene group having 2-12 carbon atoms and n is a number between 2 and 20, DOLLAR A È or in a fully or partially hydrolyzed polyvinyl alcohol of the general formula II, DOLLAR F2 in the R 'is an alkyl, aryl or acyl group having 1-12 carbon atoms, p and q numbers between 1-20 mean DOLLAR A È or dissolved in mixtures of these compounds, with a ammonia cleavage favorable, reacted alkaline catalyst to a carbonate and carbamate-containing mixture and the liberated ammon iak or the amine is removed from the reaction mixture by a stripping gas. |
