abstract The invention relates to a catalyst arrangement for the purification of the exhaust gases of lean-burn internal combustion engines. It is proposed to coat a thin-walled, porous support body on one side with a nitrogen oxide storage catalyst and on the other side with an SCR catalyst. If the exhaust gas is passed through the catalytic coatings and the carrier material, a substantial improvement of the nitrogen oxide reaction is obtained, compared with a series connection of the catalysts on separate support bodies.
