abstract |
Method for generating a plasma by electrical discharge in a discharge space which has at least two electrodes, at least one of which is made of a matrix material or carrier material, an area at risk of erosion with an evaporation point being formed at least by the current flow. In order to specify a method or a device for generating a plasma by electrical discharge, it is proposed that at least one sacrificial substrate (38) is fed to the evaporation point, the boiling point of which in discharge operation is below the melting point of the carrier material (30), so that when current flows resulting charge carriers are mainly generated from the sacrificial substrate (38). |
