titleOfInvention | Trans-sialidases from Trypanosoma congolense |
abstract | The invention relates to novel enzymes which transfer sialic acids from a donor molecule to an acceptor molecule (trans-sialidases). The enzymes were isolated from the unicellular Trypanosoma congolense. The invention further relates to functional equivalents of these enzymes; the nucleic acid sequences and amino acid sequences coding for these enzymes and their functional equivalents; Expression constructs and vectors containing these sequences; recombinant microorganisms which carry a coding nucleic acid sequence according to the invention; Process for the recombinant production of enzymes according to the invention; Process for isolating enzymes according to the invention from Trypanosoma congolense; Process for the enzymatic sialization of acceptor molecules using enzymes according to the invention; Effectors of the trans-sialidases according to the invention; the use of nucleic acid sequences, amino acid sequences, enzymes, effectors or sialyzation products according to the invention for the production of vaccines, medicines, food or nutritional supplements and the agents themselves according to the invention. |
