titleOfInvention Method for transforming a data model
abstract The invention relates to a method for automatically generating an object-oriented data model from a given data model. The given data model includes entity types (10.1, 10.2, ...) and association types (20.1, 20.2, ...), the object-oriented data model classes, attributes, and relation types. The automatic procedure selects connections between data objects of the given data model, creates connected components (90.1, 90.2, ...) for contiguous data objects, creates classes from certain connected components, and makes certain relation types (20.1, 20.2, ...) into relation types generated between classes as well as relation classes. In particular, the method makes it possible to combine the advantages of entity relationship models with those of the Unified Modeling Language (UML).
