abstract | The invention relates to the production of technical quantities of pure, natural homoeriodictyol (3'-methoxy-4 ', 5,7-trihydroxyflavanone) in the form of the homoeriodicytol sodium salt and of sterubin (7-methoxy-3', 4 ', 5-trihydroxyflavanone ) from plants of the genus Eriodictyon, such that the plant material is extracted with a non-water-miscible extracting agent, the extract is dewaxed, optionally pre-cleaned with activated carbon, treated with a basic, aqueous solution containing sodium ions and the precipitated homoeriodictyol sodium salt by reprecipitation or Purifies crystallization. |
