titleOfInvention Transceiver and method for retransmission in a mobile communication system
abstract A transmitting / receiving device and a method for retransmitting a packet in a mobile communication system are described. Upon request for retransmission from a receiver, a transmitter generates first encoded bits by inverting the initially transmitted encoded bits, generates second encoded bits by separating the initially transmitted encoded bits into a first bit group that has a relatively high priority , and a second bit group having a relatively low priority, and exchanging the first bit group with the second bit group, and generating third encoded bits by inverting the exchanged encoded bits. The transmitter selects the first coded bits or the second coded bits according to the sequence number of the retransmission request received by the receiver or the third coded bits and maps the selected coded bits to modulation symbols. The transmitter then transmits the modulation symbols to the receiver.
