Monodisperse, single- and multi-metallic magnetic particles with an adjustable average particle size between 2 and 15 nm and a narrow distribution of the particle size with a standard deviation of maximum 1.6 nm, as well as a method for producing these materials. These materials serve in isolated form or dispersed in solution u. a. as a sealing medium against dust and gases in magnetic fluid seals (liquid O-ring), for the lubrication and bearing of rotating shafts (magnetic levitation bearing), for magneto-optical information storage and also for magnetic labeling of cells and their separation in biological samples or for local application of medication. |
