abstract The invention relates to anti-tumor platinum (II) oxalato complexes, their use as therapeutic agents, in particular as anti-tumor drugs. In particular, the invention relates to compounds of the general formula (I) wherein the substituents R 1 , R 1 ' , R 2 , R 2' , R 3 , R 3 ' , R 4 and R 4' are independently selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, unsubstituted or substituted alkyl, unsubstituted or substituted alkenyl, unsubstituted or substituted cycloalkyl, unsubstituted or substituted cycloalkenyl, unsubstituted or substituted aryl and unsubstituted or substituted alkylaryl radicals, and where appropriate in each case at least two of the substituents R 1 , R 1 ' , R 2 , R 2' , R 3 , R 3 ' , R 4 and R 4' together can form at least one unsubstituted or substituted alkylene, unsubstituted or substituted alkenylene radical or an unsubstituted or substituted aromatic ring, and optionally at least one of the substituents R 1 , R 1 ' , R 2 , R 2 ' , R 3 , R 3' , R 4 and R 4 ' bearing carbon atoms of the cyclohexane ring is replaced by a hetero atom, and pharmaceutically v tolerable salts thereof, with the proviso that at least one substituent R 1 , R 1 ' , R 2 , R 2' , R 3 , R 3 ' , R 4 , R 4' is not equal to hydrogen and the substituents R 1 or R 1 ' and R 4 or R 4' with each other no unsubstituted ...
