titleOfInvention Process for the production of high-purity crystalline trichloroacetamide from trichloroacetyl chloride
abstract A process is claimed for the production of high-purity crystalline trichloroacetamide using trichloroacetyl chloride and gaseous ammonia as starting materials. The reaction is carried out using methyl t-butyl ether as solvent at temperatures between 0 to 60 ° C. and absolute pressures of 1 to 4 bar. The trichloroacetamide obtained according to the invention has a content of at least 99% by weight.
