A process is described for the preparation of hydrotalcites using at least one compound of a divalent metal (component A) and at least one compound of a trivalent metal (component B), at least one of the above components not being used in the form of a solution, characterized in that one) at least one of the components A and / or B not used as a solution shortly before or during the mixing of the components and / or b) the mixture with components A and B is subjected to intensive grinding until an average particle size (D¶50¶ ) from about 0.1 to 5 mum and, if appropriate after an aging treatment or hydrothermal treatment, the hydrotalcite product obtained is separated off, dried and optionally calcined. DOLLAR A The amorphous hydrotalcite precursors or finely divided crystalline hydrotalcites obtainable by the process according to the invention can be used in particular as catalysts or catalyst supports or as nanocomposite fillers or co-stabilizers in a polymer matrix. |
